Story 239 - part 2
Angie felt she was having, all things considered, quite a good time. The party was a big one, in a large modern house, and her role for now was to serve food and drinks at the buffet table. The table, covered by white cloth and stretching almost from one wall of the airy living-room to another, was laden with countless dishes, cups and bottles – including several platters of oysters. Angie had been asked not to wear her maid uniform, too formal for this occasion, and was dressed instead in a neatly elegant white blouse (with a name tag!) and creaseless white trousers. From where she stood behind the long table, darting here and there to attend to guests milling in and out, she was facing the large French window set in a wall made entirely of glass and leading out onto a patio over the outdoor swimming pool. It was a sunny spring day, and most of the guests were outside enjoying the sunshine and company, wandering back in only to fill up their plate or cup again. Angie rather wished
